Clear about what we collect.
We use limited website analytics and receive information only when you choose to contact us. We do not use advertising trackers, remarketing, or Google Signals.
Effective: September 26, 2026
Who we are
This website is operated by Lakes Interactive, LLC, located at 1629 Hennepin Ave., Suite 300D&E, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55403. In this policy, “Lakes Interactive,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Lakes Interactive, LLC.
Information collected automatically
We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-PTX8WKV057) to understand basic website use, such as which pages are visited, how visitors arrive at the site, and the general types of devices and browsers used. The tag loads only on lakes.io when a page loads; it is not currently held until a visitor gives cookie consent.
Google Analytics’ standard implementation may collect or derive:
- Page views, sessions, approximate visit times, and interactions with the website.
- Referring pages and general acquisition information.
- Browser, device, operating-system, language, and screen information.
- Approximate geographic information derived from an Internet Protocol (IP) address.
- A randomly generated client identifier stored in first-party cookies.
Google states that Google Analytics does not log or store individual IP addresses. We do not intentionally send Google Analytics names, email addresses, telephone numbers, form contents, or other information that directly identifies a visitor.
How we use analytics
We use analytics to understand overall site traffic, identify useful or confusing pages, diagnose broad website problems, and improve the site. We do not use Google Analytics for personalized advertising, remarketing, or audience targeting. Google Signals and Google Analytics advertising features are turned off.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use Analytics data to build individual profiles, and we do not combine it with information submitted through project inquiries.
Cookies and retention
Google Analytics may set first-party cookies including _ga and a property-specific _ga_* cookie. Google documents a default lifetime of up to two years for these cookies, although browser restrictions, deletion, or blocking may shorten that period.
Google Analytics data retention depends on the type of information and the account’s configured settings. Retention controls for user-level and event-level information do not apply to standard aggregated reports. We do not maintain a separate export or database of visitor-level Analytics information. Google may retain or process information under its own terms and policies.
You can delete or block cookies using your browser settings. Google also provides a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking Analytics cookies should not prevent you from reading or navigating this site.
Information you choose to send us
The project inquiry form on this site works in your browser and opens a draft in your email application. Nothing entered into that form is transmitted to or stored by this website before you choose to send the email.
If you send us an email, call us, or otherwise contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide. This may include your name, email address, telephone number, company or organization, project type, project details, timeline, and any proposal or other file you attach.
We use that information to respond, evaluate a potential project, provide requested services, maintain ordinary business records, and meet legal or contractual obligations. Email is handled by your email provider and ours. Please do not send passwords, access keys, payment-card details, medical information, or other sensitive personal information through the inquiry form or ordinary email.
How long we keep communications
We keep business communications only as long as reasonably needed for the conversation, a resulting client relationship, ordinary recordkeeping, dispute prevention, and legal or contractual requirements. The appropriate period depends on the nature of the communication. You may ask us to delete a non-client inquiry, subject to records we need to retain for legitimate business or legal reasons.
Service providers and disclosures
We use service providers only where needed to operate the website and communicate with you:
- Google Analytics processes website measurement data for the purposes described above. Learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy and its explanation of Google Analytics data collection.
- Square processes payment and transaction information when you choose the hosted invoice checkout. Payment details are entered directly with Square; see Square’s privacy notice for customers who do not have an account.
- Website hosting and delivery providers may process routine request and security information, such as IP addresses, timestamps, requested URLs, and technical logs, to deliver and protect the site.
- Email and telecommunications providers process messages or calls when you choose to contact us.
- Snazzy Maps and Google Maps provide the interactive map on our contact page. The embed loads automatically when you visit that page and may send technical information, including an IP address and browser information, to those providers under their policies. The address and a direct Google Maps link are also available.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or an enforceable government request; protect the rights, property, or safety of Lakes Interactive or others; or complete a business reorganization, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
Links to other websites
This site links to websites and services we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. A link does not make Lakes Interactive responsible for the other site’s collection or use of information.
Children’s privacy
This business website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Your choices and requests
Depending on where you live, privacy law may give you rights concerning personal information, such as requesting access, correction, or deletion. Because our Analytics information is pseudonymous and is not connected to inquiry information, we may not be able to identify a particular Analytics record from your name or email address alone.
To ask about information you sent directly to Lakes Interactive, email [email protected]. We may need to verify a request before completing it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our website, services, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy here and update its effective date. Material changes to how the site collects or uses information will be described before or when they take effect.
